Why Choose Ebikeist?
Updated 20 May 2026
Why buy from us?
At ebikeist, we are dedicated to making your electric bike purchase as straightforward, affordable and enjoyable as possible. We stand by three core promises that set us apart: Best Price, Hassle-Free Delivery, and Flexible Finance.
We work hard to be competitively priced on every Riese & Müller and Moustache bike we sell. If you have seen a quote elsewhere that you think we should match, please get in touch and we will do what we can.
Free, fully built delivery: ready to ride, straight to your door
The excitement of getting a new e-bike shouldn't be overshadowed by the hassle of assembly. That's why we deliver every bike fully built and ready to ride, anywhere in mainland England and Wales, free of charge.
The ebikeist delivery difference:
- Professional assembly: Every bike undergoes a thorough Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI) by qualified technicians in our workshop before it leaves.
- Ready to ride: Your bike arrives fully assembled and ready to go. Adjust the seat height and start exploring.
- No packaging hassle: No boxes to dispose of, no tools required, no trips to the recycling centre.
- Scheduled with you: Once your bike is ready for dispatch, we contact you to arrange a convenient date and time slot.

Flexible finance options: your dream e-bike is within reach
We understand an e-bike is a significant investment and we want to make it as accessible as possible. Whether you are looking to save money on your commute or prefer to spread the cost over time, we offer two flexible options.
Cycle to Work schemes
- Save money: Cycle to Work schemes save you between 21 and 42 per cent on a new e-bike through salary sacrifice, depending on your tax bracket and your employer's scheme provider.
- Accepted vouchers: We accept Cyclescheme and Green Commute Initiative (GCI). For premium e-bikes, GCI is our recommended provider thanks to its £1 end-of-hire fee versus Cyclescheme's 7 per cent ownership fee.
- Ready to apply? If your employer is signed up with Cyclescheme or GCI, obtain your certificate and contact us with your certificate number. We will process your order smoothly.
- Want the full picture? Read How to Buy a Riese & Müller on Cycle to Work for the complete breakdown of how each scheme works, the real net savings on different bikes, who can use the scheme, and the common pitfalls to avoid.
0% finance
- Spread the cost: Our 0% interest finance option breaks the cost of your bike into manageable monthly payments.
- No hidden fees: No interest, no additional charges beyond the price of the bike.
- Clear terms: 10% deposit followed by 10 equal monthly payments.
- Easy application: Quick online application at the checkout.
0% finance is provided by Novuna Consumer Finance, a trading name of Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC. Mitsubishi HC Capital UK PLC is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, FCA Firm Reference Number 704348. Credit is subject to status and is only available to UK residents aged 18 or over.

Can I test ride?
Yes. Test rides are by appointment at our Little Dartmouth showroom (3 The Piggery, Dartmouth, TQ6 0JP). The unit sits on a working farm alongside a bridleway with coastal hill routes, ideal for trying premium e-bikes on the kind of terrain you would actually ride.
We do not offer at-home test rides.
To book, call us on 03330 151 979 or email hello@ebikeist.com. Test rides are free and we run them by appointment Tuesday to Saturday during open season (March to November).

Who will maintain my bike?
We are committed to keeping your bike in perfect running order. We offer two convenient ways to get yours serviced by expert mechanics.
Little Dartmouth workshop servicing
Our workshop is open for bookings. We carry out a full service, manufacturer warranty work, and any specialist repairs on Riese & Müller and Moustache bikes.
- Standard service: £180 base.
- Additional labour beyond the base: £90 per hour.
- Existing ebikeist customers: 30% discount on labour.
- Collection: £1 per mile from either Dartmouth or Bristol, whichever is closer to you (we co-ordinate with our Bristol & Gloucestershire mobile team where appropriate).
To book a service, email accounts@ebikeist.com or call 03330 151 979.
Bristol & Gloucestershire mobile servicing (via AJ)
For customers in the Bristol and Gloucestershire area, our mobile service brings the workshop to you. AJ carries out a comprehensive service on site at your home or workplace, saving you time and hassle.
Mobile service rates match our workshop rates: £180 base service, £90 per hour additional labour, 30% discount for existing ebikeist customers, £1 per mile from Bristol.
If a job cannot be completed on the same day, AJ may take the bike back to the workshop and return it once the work is done; a courtesy bike can usually be arranged.

Our warranty policy
We stand behind the quality of the bikes we sell. Our retailer warranty covers parts only and is valid for 2 years on any new bike and 6 months on used bikes.
Our retailer warranty sits alongside the manufacturer warranties from Riese & Müller and Moustache, which typically cover frame and motor for longer periods (subject to each brand's own terms). For warranty work we will hold the warranty for you and co-ordinate any claim with the manufacturer.
Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected.
General e-bike questions
Common questions new e-bike riders ask. For more detail, see our blog.
How far can I go on a single charge?
Range varies widely with battery size, rider weight, terrain, and the level of assistance you use. For a real-world example, a 500Wh battery typically gives 35 to 65 miles. A 750Wh battery gives 60 to 75 miles or more in ideal conditions. Range extender batteries (PowerMore 250Wh on Bosch systems) add proportionally.
How fast do electric bikes go?
In the UK, the assisted speed of a road-legal e-bike (EAPC) is limited to 15.5 mph (25 km/h). Beyond this, the motor stops providing assistance but you can continue to pedal under your own power. Some bikes (S-Pedelec / 28 mph variants) are sold for off-road or private-land use only.
Are e-bikes waterproof?
E-bikes are designed to be ridden in all weather conditions. The main electrical components (motor, battery, display) are sealed and water-resistant; they are perfectly safe to ride in the rain. They are not designed to be submerged in water.
How do I charge the battery and how long does it take?
Charging is similar to charging a laptop. Plug the charger into a standard wall socket and connect to your bike's battery. A full charge from empty typically takes 3 to 6 hours, depending on the battery's capacity and your charger.
