Bosch eBike Flow App 1.30: Smarter Riding, Seamless Shifting
Bosch has released version 1.30 of its eBike Flow App, introducing a wave of new features that make connected riding more intelligent and intuitive than ever. This update refines route navigation, boosts motor performance, and, most excitingly for many of our riders, unlocks automatic shifting for Rohloff E-14 through Bosch’s eShift system.
What’s New in Version 1.30
1. Stay on Course – “Follow Original Route”
Riders can now choose to follow the exact imported route from Komoot, Strava, or RideWithGPS without Bosch’s system recalculating. This gives total route fidelity, ideal for gravel or mountain rides where precision matters. If you stray from the track, the app will no longer reroute automatically, keeping your planned line intact.
2. Extra Power for Performance Line SX
For bikes equipped with Bosch’s lightweight SX drive unit:
- Torque increases from 55 Nm to 60 Nm
- Assist ratio rises to 400%
The lively eMTB+ mode also joins the SX platform, offering more dynamic assistance on steep climbs or technical trails.
3. eShift + Rohloff E-14 Automatic Shifting

Bosch’s eShift system now supports fully automatic shifting with Rohloff E-14 hubs.
How It Works
- Set your target cadence in the Flow App.
- In Automatic (A) mode, the system shifts gears to maintain that cadence, adapting instantly to load and gradient.
- You can override manually at any time.
- The new M+ (coasting) mode even changes gear while you’re off the pedals.
Requirements
- Rohloff E-14 firmware version 2.5.1.0 or newer
- Bosch Smart System components updated via the Flow App

4. Display Enhancements
- Kiox 400C displays can now be fully customised to show the data you value most.

5. Quality-of-Life Tweaks
Expect smoother menus, faster Bluetooth pairing, and clearer grouping in the app’s settings. The update also delivers improved stability and background performance monitoring.
