Pick a time

A test ride is the moment a £4,000-plus e-bike stops being a spec sheet and starts being yours. We are not a high-street shop with a forecourt. We are on a farm unit at Little Dartmouth, with a bridleway out of the door and the south Devon coast for a backdrop, so you ride the bikes on the hills and lanes you would actually ride at home. It is free, there is no hard sell, and you ride for as long as you need to make your mind up.

Why ride here, not in a car park

The whole point of a premium e-bike is how it handles a real climb, a loose surface, a long descent. You cannot feel any of that on a flat forecourt. From the Piggery you can be on the coastal bridleway in minutes, then onto quiet lanes with proper gradients. It is the best place I know to feel what the motor actually does, and to feel the difference between a Bosch CX and a Pinion gearbox, or a Charger and a Delite.

What to expect

  • By appointment at Little Dartmouth, with the bikes on your shortlist ready in your size.
  • We talk through what you want the bike for, then you ride. Take your time.
  • No pressure to buy on the day. That is what a test ride is for.
  • Choosing between models? Ride them back to back. The difference is usually obvious within a mile.

What to bring

  • Flat shoes you can ride in.
  • A helmet if you have one. If not, we will lend you one.
  • A rough idea of the riding you want to do: commuting, touring, off-road, or all three.
  • About an hour, longer if you want to ride more than one bike.
